Pulse oximetry

For oxygen levels monitoring

Pulse oximetry is a simple, economic and non-invasive diagnostic procedure used to measure the level of oxygen (or oxygen saturation) in the blood. Oxygen saturation should be higher than 94% but might be lower in the case of respiratory diseases or congenital cardiac diseases.

It is possible to measure the level of oxygen saturation in the blood with a pulse oximeter, a device with a sensor, similar to a clip, which has to be placed on a thin part of the body, like a finger.
